Disconnection Alerts
Your device syncs with Fishbowl every two minutes to keep your device settings updated.
This also serves as a check to ensure that the device is connected to the internet.
If a device misses two Fishbowl syncs, the device enters a disconnected state. If the device can still sync your events (i.e. still connects to your calendar provider), then it will continue displaying the room status for 24 hours even if it is disconnected from Fishbowl.
Disconnection alerts are available to Premium subscription plans only.

Common Causes of Disconnections
- The most common cause is a temporary Wi-Fi issue. You can reduce the alert sensitivity, or consider a wired (ethernet) internet connection.
- Android tablets sometimes disconnect from the internet sporadically. This could be a hardware or firmware issue, and is not an easy issue to debug.
- If the tablet is switched off with the power button, Fishbowl will log a disconnection, unless you enable sleep mode for that time.
- If someone closes Fishbowl, or if the app crashes, a disconnection will be logged. You can consider setting up a kiosking app or configure an MDM solution.
Frequently Asked Questions
I set my disconnections to trigger after 5 minutes, but I only received the email after 7 minutes. Why is it delayed?
Fishbowl sends disconnection alerts every 5 minutes. This means you may receive emails up to 5 minutes after your configured Trigger After (minutes).
Why do I get a disconnection alert every day when my device goes to sleep? Please ensure that the sleep time zone configured on fishbowlmeetings.com matches your device time zone. If your device is set to an automatic time zone, you can try to set it manually. Please contact us at [email protected] then we will help you to debug the issue
I previously set only some of my devices to send disconnection alerts. Why do I get alerts on all my devices now? Previously, disconnection alerts were configured on the device level.
