Do you offer support?
Yes - email support is included with all Fishbowl subscriptions. We'll usually get back to you within one business day. Our team is based in South Africa (UTC+2), so there are certain hours when we are offline.
You can contact us via email if you encounter any issues or need help setting up.
I want a custom feature - can you build it?
We are always happy to receive feedback, and we usually add suggestions to our development plan.

Do you offer bulk discounts or NGO discounts?
Yes we do. We offer bulk discounts for more than 10 rooms. We also offer NGO discounts on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us to find out if you qualify.
Do you supply tablets?
No, we only supply the Fishbowl software at the moment.
I am a reseller or distributor - can I sell Fishbowl?
We evaluate resellers and distributors on a case-by-case basis. You can contact us to find out if you qualify.
Will I be charged VAT?
Our payment provider and Merchant of Record, Paddle, calculates and levies VAT based on your billing information. Please ensure that you enter the correct country and VAT number. European VAT is usually levied using the reverse-charge mechanism.
When setting up Microsoft 365 or Exchange, I cannot sign in
Fishbowl communicates directly with your Exchange server, whether it is on-premises or Exchange Online.
You need ensure that the tablet has internet access (Exchange Online / Office365), or is on a network that can access your Exchange server IP (on premises).
On O365, you usually need to enter the full email address when prompted for your username, e.g. [email protected]
When setting up Microsoft 365 or Exchange, it returns "The information provided is incorrect"
If you managed to successfully insert your username, server URL (Exchange on-premises) and password, then this message means that the user does not have the correct privileges to access this resource.
You need to select Full Access under Mailbox Delegation for the applicable room resource mailbox. It should be noted that sometimes Exchange takes a few minutes to propagate settings
My Fishbowl tablet suddenly only displays "Loading..."
Fishbowl connects directly to your calendar server. If the "Loading..." text does not disappear, it means that Fishbowl could not connect to your calendar server.
If Fishbowl was previously working, then it usually means that someone has changed the login details of the user that was used to configure Fishbowl
It could also mean that the permissions of this user have changed to no longer have Read access to your calendars

I don't have Google Workspace, only a Gmail account, can I still use Fishbowl?
You can use Fishbowl with a personal Google account - just create a new calendar for each meeting room, share this calendar with your team, and create events on that calendar to book the room. We also support the free calendar service Teamup.
What tablets are supported by Fishbowl?
Fishbowl works on most Android tablets with 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and newer. We recommend 10" tablets with WXGA resolution (1280x720) or higher for optimal results. We also support iOS 10 and newer iPads.
Where is Fishbowl tax resident?
Fishbowl is a product of Strix Technology (Pty) Ltd, South African company number 2015/150595/07, and is tax resident in South Africa with tax number 9721289164 and VAT number 4720285198. We process credit card payments through our payment provider and Merchant of Record, Paddle.
Why are there ZAR amounts on my invoice?
If we invoice you directly (i.e. you pay via wire transfer), then you might notice a ZAR section at the bottom of your invoice. Fishbowl is a product of Strix Technology (Pty) Ltd, which is a registered VAT vendor in South Africa. In order to report zero-rated exported services, we need to convert foreign currency invoices to ZAR amounts. If you are not tax resident in South Africa, then you may ignore these amounts, since they are for reference purposes only.
