Settings Glossary

Please note that certain settings may not be available on Apple devices, due to OS constraints.

1. General


Name

Choose a name for the device. It will be displayed above the agenda on the device. E.g. Boardroom.

Description

Choose a description for the device. It will be displayed below the name. E.g. 8-person capacity small conference room. The maximum number of characters is 255, but it will be device-dependent how many characters are actually displayed. Most devices will display around 60 characters across three lines. Only available on Fishbowl Modern layouts on Android version 2.9.0 or higher and iOS 2.2.1 or higher.

2. Style


Upload a logo using Fishbowlmeetings.com, or enter your logo URL (e.g. https://domain.com/logo.png)

Layout

Select between Modern or Classic.

Available Background

The color of the background if the room is available, specified in hexadecimal format, e.g. #ffffff

Available Text

The color of the text if the room is available, specified in hexadecimal format, e.g. #ffffff

Busy Background

The color of the background if the room is busy, specified in hexadecimal format, e.g. #ffffff

Busy Text

The color of the text if the room is busy, specified in hexadecimal format, e.g. #ffffff

Busy Soon Background

The color of the background if the room has an upcoming event soon (in less than Busy Soon Shown Before (minutes)), specified in hexadecimal format, e.g. #ffffff

Busy Soon Text

The color of the text if the room has an upcoming event soon (in less than Busy Soon Shown Before (minutes)), specified in hexadecimal format, e.g. #ffffff

Agenda Background

The background color of the agenda (upcoming events), specified in hexadecimal format, e.g. #ffffff

Agenda Text

The text color of the agenda (upcoming events), specified in hexadecimal format, e.g. #ffffff

Available Background Image (Premium Only)

Select an image to set behind the text but in front of the color of the "Available" state. Supports transparency in PNG images. Only available on Fishbowl Android 2.9.0, or iOS 2.2.1 or higher.

Busy Background Image (Premium Only)

Select an image to set behind the text but in front of the color of the "Busy" state. Supports transparency in PNG images. Only available on Fishbowl Android 2.9.0, or iOS 2.2.1 or higher.

Busy Soon Background Image (Premium Only)

Select an image to set behind the text but in front of the color of the "Busy Soon" state (if the room has an upcoming event in less than Busy Soon Shown Before (minutes)). Supports transparency in PNG images. Only available on Fishbowl Android 2.9.0, or iOS 2.2.1 or higher.

3. Booking Settings


Default Booking Text

The meeting title if you book an event using the tablet. E.g. Local Booking

Available Text

The text shown when the room is available (there are no events in progress at the current time). E.g. Available or Free

Busy Text

The text shown when the room is busy (an event is in progress). E.g. Busy

Busy Soon Text

The text shown when the room has an upcoming event soon (in less than Busy Soon Shown Before (minutes)). E.g. Busy Soon

Busy Soon Shown Before (minutes)

The number of minutes before an upcoming meeting that the room enters the Busy Soon state. The default is 15 minutes.

Ignore All-Day Events

Select if all-day events (events with no start or end time) should be shown. If enabled, all-day events will not be displayed in the agenda, and will not affect the room's status (free or busy).

Show Agenda Up To (days)

The number of days ahead to show in the agenda. The default is 14 days.

Refresh Interval (seconds)

How often the device refreshes its calendar data, in seconds. The default is 120 seconds (2 minutes). Lower values will refresh more frequently but may increase battery and network usage.

4. Security & Permissions


Analytics Enabled

PREMIUM ONLY Enable analytics to help you to track device usage and trends. No personal or private details are ever sent to Fishbowl. Analytics are always anonymized and aggregated. For example, Number of minutes booked and Number of local bookings.

Allow Booking Now

Enable the Use Now button. The button will be shown if the room is available (no events in progress). A popup will be shown where you can enter a title and select the duration. You cannot specify the organizer or attendees.

Allow Booking In Future

Enable the Book button. The button will always be shown. A screen will be shown where you can select the start and end, enter a title and select the duration. You cannot specify the organizer or attendees.

Allow Ending

Enable the End Now button. A popup confirmation will be shown, and if confirmed, the current event in progress will be ended at the current time. For Microsoft calendars this only affects the room calendar, and does not change the event on organizer or attendee calendars.

Allow Extending

Enable the Extend button. A popup will be shown where you can select the number of minutes to extend the current event duration by. For Microsoft calendars this only affects the room calendar, and does not change the event on organizer or attendee calendars.

Show Meeting Titles

If enabled, meeting titles (sometimes called "subjects") will be shown on the device. For Microsoft calendars, this needs to be enabled first.

Show Attendees

If enabled, attendees will be shown when you tap on an event. Will be hidden for private Google or Microsoft meetings if enabled.

Show Organizer

If enabled, the organizer's name will be shown when you tap on an event, or in the "Upcoming" section if you selected the Classic layout. Will be hidden for private Google or Microsoft meetings if enabled.

PIN

Choose a PIN (up to 255 characters). When you open the Fishbowl menu on a device by tapping on the logo, the PIN will be required before you can access any of the settings.

Check-In

Require check-in. If enabled a check-in window will be shown before an event starts. If someone taps on the check-in button, the event continues as normal. If nobody taps on the check-in button, then the event is ended and the room is made available. You can specify:

  • Opens: the number of minutes before an event that the check-in window opens (max 30min)
  • Closes: the number of minutes after an events starts when the event will be cancelled if not checked in (max 30min)
  • Cancel Recurring Bookings After X Missed Check-Ins: if checked-in is missed X times for a specific recurring booking, then all future occurrences of the booking will be cancelled.

Please note: on Microsoft 365 resources, the booking will not be cancelled in the organizer or attendees' calendars. Only the room calendar will be affected.

Sleep

ANDROID ONLY If enabled, the device will no longer keep the screen awake at the specified Sleep time. The system will then turn off the display. At the specified wake time the next day, Fishbowl will wake the system, as long as the lock screen is disabled.
