Why Fishbowl for Microsoft Exchange (on-premises)
Stays on your LAN
Fishbowl connects directly to your Exchange Server over EWS. The tablet and the server can be on the same private network. No public traversal is required.
No cloud relay
There is no Fishbowl service in the middle of your meeting traffic. Mailbox credentials and meeting data never leave your premises.
Works with hybrid setups
For tenants partway through a migration, Fishbowl supports both Exchange Online and on-premises mailboxes simultaneously.
Suits regulated industries
A common fit for finance, government, healthcare, defence, and other environments where confidential meeting data cannot leave the corporate network.
How it works
-
1
Identify the room resource mailbox in Exchange. Grant a user Full Access to the resource mailbox under Mailbox Delegation.
-
2
Make sure the tablet has network access to your Exchange Server (typically over the LAN or VPN).
-
3
Install Fishbowl on the tablet, choose Microsoft Exchange as the calendar type, and enter the server URL plus the credentials of the user with Full Access.
-
4
The display reads and writes events directly via EWS. No internet connectivity to your room calendar is required.
